My Sweet Vegan giveaway results!

Please head over to my new blog at, where you'll find this post & more!

Phew, what a crazy week of comments it has been! With over 100 entries, I'm glad I decided to let choose the winner for the My Sweet Vegan giveaway, rather than deciding myself.

While many of you chose common combinations like peanut butter & chocolate or fruit & chocolate, others came through with unique flavor combinations such as banana & curry, chili & pickle juice, pineapple & turmeric, & multiple people even mentioned peanut butter & pickles! I'm finding myself inspired by the suggestions & may have to use some of them in future kitchen concoctions! I was a bit alarmed to see mentions of items like bacon & cheese on a vegan blog, but that's a story for another time!

So, without further ado, the winner of a copy of My Sweet Vegan by Hannah Kaminsky is..
#30- Bianca! "you can really do no wrong with chocolate but a sourdough acme baguette sliced up and covered in chocolate is totally magical." Here's a screenshot of the selection.

Congratulations Bianca; I'll definitely be trying your flavor combination! Lucky me, I live in the city of Acme Bread & it is a favorite of mine. In fact, I used their Sour Batard tonight to make the "Sweet & Simple French Toast" from My Sweet Vegan & it was delicious! How is that for irony?!

Thank you to everyone for joining in the fun & I hope those of you who weren't selected will buy a copy of My Sweet Vegan today! It's a fun & fabulous book for any dessert lover!

I will definitely be getting it.!! I just looked up Acme Bread and it looks great! Do you get Dave's Killer Bread in SF?

Aw, man! I am jealous. But congratulations, Bianca! I can't believe how many entries there were! We must all have crazy sweet tooths (teeth?).

I totally don't "need" anymore cookbooks, but I don't think I'll be able to resist getting this one. It's on my Amazon wish list, and I drool over it just about everyday... What to do.

Mentioning a French Toast recipe might have just tempted me over the edge, though... Jeez!

Thanks again for generously giving away a copy of the book, Melisser, and congratulations to Bianca! I hope you enjoy the recipes!

Congrats to the lucky winner, and it's so wonderful of you to have had this contest! I was going to post but I couldn't think of anytthing wacky enough in time... But then this morning I remembered that for a week or so around Christmas I was totally into hummus + homemade granola, as in, you mix the two together and eat them. I was so into it that I finally got kinda sick on it one day, so I've moved on, but that was one of my weirder recent flavor combos... And wow, I hadn't even noticed that French Toast recipe, but I've got to get on that soon!

What a great contest--sorry I missed it! Then again, I already have a copy of Hannah's amazing cookbook, so I really shouldn't have played, anyway ;)

I can't resist telling you about my former room-mate's combo (well, maybe it's not so weird after all): pizza and peanut butter. As in, "spread peanut butter on your pizza where the tomato sauce usually goes." Apparently, pretty tasty!

Thanks for your comment on my blog, melliser--it is much appreciated! I've bookmarked your site and will definitely be visiting regularly.

All your recipes look delicious! I can't wait till I'm back in my kitchen and can try some of them out (I especially love the fried tofu, my favorite dish is sesame coated fried tofu with spinach from the Moosewood Cookbook)
